David Americo Ortiz Arias aka Big Papi, is a very famous professional baseball player of the MLB, he’s from Dominican origin. Play as a designated hitter for the team Boston Red Sox. It has been 10 times All Stars, he is positioned as number 27 in the list of top home run hitters of all time in MLB with 500 home runs made throughout his career and is also considered as the largest cluth-hitter of all times of the Red Sox.

Born on 18 November of 1975, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. After graduating of high school studies in Espallat School in his native country, he was signed by the Seattle Mariners, playing in the minor leagues under the name of “David Arias” integrated into the team of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a team of Seattle Mariners for minor leagues. In 1996 he was traded to the Minnesota Twins where he made his debut as a player, making significant actions on the field, being a booster for the team. Despite having proven to be a great player for the Twins, it was released at the conclusion of the 2001 season.

In 2003, David Ortiz signed a contract with Boston Red Sox, where he barely begin to play the first two months of the season as a pinch hitter and rarely starts. On June 1 of that year, he is inserted by decision of the manager as a hitter holder, Ortiz took the opportunity to stand out as a player, finishing the season with 288 average, 101 RBIs and 31 home runs.
