Nolan is a British-American film director, producer and screenwriter. He was born in London 30Th July, 1970. His father, Brendan James Nolan, was an advertising executive; his mother was from America, Christina that worked as a flight attendant and a teacher of English.
Christopher Nolan lived his childhood between Evanston, Illinois, and London, he has both citizenship. Nolan has a brother, older than him, Matthew Francis Nolan, who is a convicted criminal, and a younger brother Jonathan.
First roles
The famous director began his career directing films when his father lend him his Super 8 camera and Christopher began shooting short films with his Legos. As growing up, Nolan was influenced by Star Wars 1977, and when he was 8 years old made a stop motion animation called Space Wars at his home.
The Wall Street Journal said that Nolan have an ability to combine box-office success with artistic ambition that was given to him a big amount of clout in the industry. From the British Film Institute, Geoff Andrew, called Christopher Nolan a persuasively inventive storyteller and said that he is one of the few contemporary filmmakers producing highly personal films.

Personal life
Nolan is actually married with Emma Thomas, they met at the University College London when he was only 19 years old. She worked as a producer on all of his films, and together they founded the production company Syncopy Inc.
They have four children and they lives in Los Angeles. Christopher Nolan hates to speak about his personal life in interviews, he doesn’t even have a cellphone or an email address. He said once that when he was starting his career nobody has these, and never pay attention to have one. That’s why the famous director prohibits the use of phone on the set of his movie, in all the crew and actors.
Christopher Nolan as a writer and a director of a number of science fiction and action films has been honored with awards and different nomination from the Hugo Awards, the Nebula Awards and the Saturn Awards.
