His brother suffers from cerebral palsy and is a spokesman for the Reaching for the Stars Foundation. His childhood was difficult, and he had several jobs, including carpentry, and other jobs related to farm life.

He attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for about a year when his family moved to Tiffin, Iowa, where he attended Clear Creek-Amana High School. In addition to being a student, he participated in the football team as a receiver. Meanwhile, his life in the house was stressful. Kutcher admitted that as a teenager, he thought about suicide. At thirteen, he tried to jump off a balcony of a hospital, but his father intervened at the last minute.

Around that time, his parents divorced. During his senior year, he burst into high school at night with his cousin to steal the money, but upon leaving he was arrested. Kutcher was convicted in third degree for trespassing and sentenced to three years’ probation and 180 hours of community service.

During his time at the University, he was approached by a talent hunt at a bar called The Airliner in Iowa City, Iowa, and was hired to enter “Fresh Faces of Iowa,” a model competition. After placing first, he won a trip to New York to the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) Convention. After his stay in New York, Ashton returned to his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before moving to Los Angeles to continue his acting career.

After being a model with certain success, Kutcher decided to Los Angeles, where he made his first audition, from which he was chosen as Michael Kelso on the television series That ’70s Show, which debuted in 1998 and ended in 2006. He starred in several comic films, including Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000), Newlyweds (2003), and Guess Who (2005).

He appeared briefly in the 2003 film Cheaper by the Dozen, playing a self-obsessed actor. His 2004 film The Butterfly Effect represented an unusual character for him, because he was playing a troubled young man who falls in love with a girl called Kayleigh; The film received negative mixed reviews, but it was a blockbuster hit.
