The giant of American basketball, and soon to be the first billionaire NBA player, Lebron James, also known as “King James” or the new Michael Jordan, was born on December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio. He was raised by his mother, Gloria Marie James, who was only 16 years old when he was born. Gloria tried hard to make her family more stable with the best environment. When Lebron was 9, he was introduced to basketball by Coach Frank Walker. By the age of 16, he joined the amateur athletic union, Northeastern Ohio Shooting Stars and went on to achieve many successes in his first local athletic experiences.
In 2003, before he became a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, he signed with Nike for $90 million for seven years. Lebron was nominated as the best rising player (NBA Rookie of the Year), became the youngest Cav to top 2000 points, and succeeded against the legendary Kobe Bryant. After that, Lebron continued his journey with broken records and received many individual awards, and he also earned different titles and awards with his team until 2009-2010.
In 2010, James moved to the Miami Heat for $110 million, but he returned home in 2014 to his first team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he is still playing today. At the international level, James participated with the US National Team at the Olympics and scored gold twice in 2008 and 2012. He also participated in the world championship 2006 in Japan, which was won by the US National Team.
With a net worth of $200 million, and unlimited achievements and championships, James’s life is surprisingly quiet. He got married to his girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, and he has three children. Lebron owns a charitable organization for the children in his hometown called Family Foundation, which he manages along with his mother, trying to assist needy children with recreation and educational opportunities. So far, he has provided over 1000 scholarships for children with a total value of $44 million.
