The american actor and producer, Samuel L. Jackson has a net worth of $200 million. Samuel Leroy Jackson was born in Washington D.C (USA) on December 21st, 1948. He grew up with his mother, Elizabeth Jackson, and his stepfather in the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. His father lived in Kansas City, Missouri.

Studies and political activism.

Jackson received classes at a school, where he learned to play the trumpet in the school orchestra. He later attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he co-founded the theater group “Just Us Theater”. Jackson finished his Bachelor of Arts in 1972.

While he was in Morehouse, Jackson, along with several colleagues, participated in a demonstration that took control of the campus. Martin Luther King, Jr. was in the administration building at the time, and he could not leave because of the demonstration. The demonstrators let Mr. King out when he began to suffer chest pains.

Jackson married LaTanya Richardson in 1980 and they had a daughter, named Zoe Jackson, born in 1982. They currently live in Beverly Hills, California.

Career.

After playing a series of characters in films without much repercussion, Samuel L. Jackson would participate in Patriot Games (1992), along with Harrison Ford. The following year, he played a secondary character in Jurassic Park (1993), directed by Steven Spielberg and next to actors such as Sam Neill, Laura Dern, or Richard Attenborough.

Quentin Tarantino.

He worked with Quentin Tarantino on numerous occasions, the first one was in the thriller Pulp Fiction (1994), in which he shared credits with John Travolta and Uma Thurman. For his performance of Jules Winnfield, Samuel L Jackson received nominations for the Oscar, the Golden Globe Awards, and the Actors Guild Award, all of them as “Best Supporting Actor” and winning the BAFTA in the same category.

He chained this role with the action film Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995), starring Bruce Willis. Later he played Carl Lee Hailey in the adaptation of John Grisham’s novel A Time to Kill (1996), directed by Joel Schumacher and with Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey and Matthew McConoughey as cast partners. Jackson once again won a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Other films.

In the following years, he would intervene in numerous productions such as Jackie Brown (1997) which was his second collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, and in which he performed along with Pam Grier, Robert De Niro and Michael Keaton. For this film, he got a Golden Globe nomination once again; and the thriller Sphere (1997) with Sharon Stone and Dustin Hoffman, who was overwhelmed by critics and grossed just $ 37 million with a budget of 80.

The thriller The Negotiator (1998), along with Kevin Spacey, again gained the applause from the press. In 1999, he participated in a character from the franchise Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), directed by George Lucas, carried out by Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor. The film grossed more than $920 million around the world.
