Sally Field is an American actress, born in California, who currently net worth is $55 million. She was born in Pasadena, California, USA on November 6th, 1946. She is a twice twice Oscar winner for titles like Best Actress in Norma Rae (1979) and Places in The Heart (1984).
Early life.
Her parents were a typical Hollywood family: her mother was an actress, and her stepfather was a Western actor, who had previously been a physician. Field began to act in television, in two series in the 60s in popular TV shows in the United States such as, Gidget, and the classic series The Flying Nun. These series seemed to pigeon her in light roles.
The first characters that Field interpreted in television were fresh, funny, and joyful, so she had a hard time convincing the producers and directors that she was also a good actress, and she could make a dramatic leap to the big screen in the 1970s.

In 1976, she had the chance to prove it, when she got a part in a television film where she played a character who suffered from personality dysfunction. For her performance, she won an Emmy. In 1979, she had her opportunity in the big screen when she took part like protagonist in the film Norma Rae, in which she interpreted with extraordinary acting passion a unionist who fights for her rights, and won the Oscar for Best Leading Actress. Five years later, she won another statuette, this time by Places in the Heart.
Personal life.
Sally Field had a long relationship with actor Burt Reynolds, but she never accepted his marriage proposal. In 1975, she married another man and divorced after seven years. She later remarried, but the marriage also ended in divorce. She has three children, two of her first husband, and one of her second husband.
Other films.
Sally also formed part of Disney’s 2008 movie, The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel’s Origin, giving voice to the villain, called Marina del Ray. She appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire along with Robin Williams in 1993, and soon after that, as Forrest Gump’s mother in the film with the same name.
Currently, Sally Field is better known for playing Nora Walker, a mother in the American Series Brothers and Sisters.
Activism.
She has said herself that she is proud of being a mother of her gay son. In front of more than 3,000 people the actress opened for the first time on the homosexuality of her son Sam and the way in which she helped him to accept himself. Sally Field stood in front of the podium of the Human Rights Campaign to accept a prize for her work in the fight for equality, and used the microphone to tell her own story as the mother of a homosexual son and as an activist for the rights of the LGBT community.
