Cung Le is a famous fighter of the UFC and also an actor of Vietnamese origin who also practiced Mixed Martial Arts and Sanshou kickboxing. It was a former light heavyweight world champion of the International Kickboxing Federation. With a Kickboxing record of (17-0). Before his retirement, he defeated Frank Shamrock and becomes the second middleweight champion in Strikeforce and then began working as an actor.
Born on 25 May 1972 in Saigon, South Vietnam. With his mother he has to move to the United States, 3 days before the fall of Saigon. After discrimination and harassment at the time, that led him to want to learn martial arts since he has 10 years. Cung Le began to take Taekwondo classes. Then at 14 years of age, after being inspired by Sylvester Stallone in Rocky, starts to compete in wrestling. At the age of 19 he started practicing kickboxing and Sanshou.
In his professional wrestling career, he got his big debut in the competition of Sanshou and Kickboxing, getting along all the great championships results and a mark of 17 wins and 0 losses. In Kickboxing, he has being the winner of distinguished championships in the discipline.
Cung Le first appearance on Strikeforce was on March 10 of 2006, facing Mike Altman, where he was victorious after winning in the third round. He also had several fantastic fights against prominent figures in the UFC and also appears in the Chinese UFC. He retired in 2015 on January 20, along with his manager tells him the means and felt no interest to continue competing in the UFC and wanted to continue the race in Kickboxing.
In his career as an actor, he has had major co-starring roles in the film Tekken, acting with great actors like Channing Tatum and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
