Bruce Willis is an American actor, producer, and a part-time musician whose net worth is $180 million. Bruce Willis was born in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany on March 19th, 1955. He is the son of Marlene, a German born in Kassel and working in a bank, and David Willis, an American soldier.

He is the eldest of four siblings: Florence, David and Robert – the latter died of pancreatic cancer in 2001, at the age of 42. His paternal family is predominantly English descent and to a lesser extent Dutch, French, Welsh and Irish. After leaving the army in 1957, Willis’ father took his family from a German military base where they settled in the Carneys Point, New Jersey settlement, where he obtained jobs as a welder and factory worker.

Life in USA.

He and his family moved to USA, when he was two years old. Later, in 1972, when Willis was a teenager and lived in Penns Grove, New Jersey, his parents divorced. At the same time, he began his high school studies at Penns Grove High School, where he suffered from stuttering problems and received the nickname Buck Buck from his classmates.

Willis appealed, advised by his theater professor at the Jerry Rockwood School, to a kind of “exercises” to strengthen his confidence, imparted by a scholar specialist in the speech, and this was how he lost his stuttering.

Career.

In 1980, his film debut took place as an extra in the production The First Deadly Sin, starring Frank Sinatra. Later, he left New York City to go to California, where he participated in auditions for television programs. In November 1984, he appeared in an episode of the series Miami Vice, titled “No Exit”, that belonged to the first season, where it interpreted the role of Tony Amato, an arms dealer.

Die Hard.

After five successful seasons on Moonlighting, he decided to turn his career in the cinema, but mostly of his films received barely mild to bad critics, and they were a totally failure. It was not until his incorporation in the film Die Hard (1988) that Willis was launched to fame.

It is noteworthy to mention that he made his own risk scenes in the film, and, after its release, the film grossed a total of 138,708,852 USD worldwide, in addition to obtaining excellent reviews, that instantly cataloged it as one of the best action films of contemporary cinema.
